what is up ladies and gentlemen welcome back to the Brandon coin YouTube channel I'm back in the shop today and I had some trade-ins in the last couple days this was less than Stellar things um almost comical on one of them and you know what we'll start on that one right now but it was a laptop and I looked it up online and these things are selling for like I mean I say peanuts but um I saw like you know completed sales anywhere from like $50 up to 100 bucks and looks like on clearance these things were like $120 brand new but that's these little HP stream laptops this one has a bunch of stickers all over it and he was like how much can I get for it I'm like man I really don't even like want to because it has a Celeron dual core in it um the exact dual core hold on let me pull it up here is a it's not a good one um it's taking that long to open time manager come on you can do it it's an Intel Celeron in 3060 so 3060 um base base clock is 1.6 GHz and I've been watching this thing I did install a miner on it which I it's almost comical to see the hash rate this thing puts out that R it hashes at all but um it's holding 2.5 GHz which okay that's doable but it's two cores two threads and this is a DDR3 system so yeah the memory is running at600 mahz not ideal so before we go on um I put this bad boy on unminable just for you know giggles and shiggles and all that kind of stuff I made sure Windows updates are all done nothing else is running in the background to pull away from the hash rout rate um what do you guys think this thing can hash on random X go ahead lock it in right now what do you think comment it down below I'll give you 5 Seconds all right let's flip it around and show you the damage so this is the laptop in question it's actually pretty low profile kind of like the like how light it is it feels it honestly feels like a Chromebook and that's because it's running Chromebook Hardware these processors do significantly better on anything other than Windows Windows is just too heavy heavy for them but on Windows through unminable it's doing 90 hashes 90 um to put that in perspective the laptop that I had on a video from the other day with an a newer i7 it was a 13 650 so it was like a 14 core i7 was doing like over 4,000 hashes so like 40 times faster than this CPU um now opening up task manager right here look at that she's pegged hold on let me change this this to see both of the cores they're pegged pegged out to the Limit just o existing inside of windows it's using 3.4 GB of the 4 GB of DDR3 um the SSD or or sorry I don't even think this is a an SSD it's SanDisk DF I think this is the emmc maybe I'm not sure but it's got a 32 gig uh drive in it I don't even know what people realistically use these computers for were these like School computers that were given out and nobody ever wanted back for obvious reasons um I'm not sure but regardless got him upgraded he is now got some parts and he's putting a uh a desktop machine together but yeah I just thought that was funny 85 hashes 85 it it just bikes up to 90 every now and then this is like obviously it's not worth it to mine on CPUs on laptops like any of them really this is beyond the definition of be like worth it to mine this thing would literally take a lifetime to pay itself off even though it was only you know a cheap price it just doesn't it just don't do it and it ain't never going to like overheat because it don't put no power down but yeah I just thought that was funny um now the other thing that got traded in was this GPU right here he brought it in he's like I don't know what's wrong with it or was sorry I do know what's wrong with it it's got a broken fan and then this fan said see you later uh but he's like I don't know what GPU it is and I'm like have you never run it and he's like no so looking at the sticker right here looks like somebody's been into it it's a PNY something with 8 gigs of gddr6 so that was telling me this ain't no 1660 this ain't no 2060 this could be you know a 2070 I'm not sure about this cooler design cuz it's got a ugly cooler on I don't even know if that's the cooler it came with it but being that it has 8 gigs of GD gddr 6 um I threw him a little offer cuz he didn't want to wait around and have me plug it in or anything he just wanted to get in and out and um yeah he took it so now it's time for me to I'm going to take this off see what the die is um go ahead and repaste it I'm going to take these fans off and I'll rig something up with you know some kind of other fan or other cooler looks like it uses the standard you know three mounting holes in a y pattern or whatever that pattern is called but um yeah I'm hoping I'm hoping this is something good being that it's got eight gigs I'm not sure my camera won't what do you guys think it is do you guys even think it works all right let's get to it all right ladies and gentlemen it's got a tu106 400 A- A1 which comes up to a RTX 270 super so that is super um now the thermal paste looked pretty rough on there uh so I'm going to get that cleaned off get some new thermal paste on as for the fan situation it has a couple fan inputs I'm going to look and see what I have see if I have anything that fits just so I can strap it on there um and I can put it all back together some of these thermop pads ripped but I I think we got a a clean rip to where it should be fine to go all back together actually I might have some thermop pads I can put right there scrape those off and put some new ones on um yeah nice pleasant surprise I thought it was going to be a 20170 but 2070 super is even better let's see if it works now all right right guys so we got the cool linator 5000 here uh just temporary so I can plug it in give it a little Molex power so that bad boy does the old Sama and then um probably plug it in right there just to see if it actually works and Boots up what do you think guys I'm going to be honest I don't think it's going to work all right let's go all right I've booted it up and turned it off a couple different times and it looks like it's finding it maybe H there we go oh there it is 2070 oh is it not a 2070 super thought it was a 2070 my bad or a 2070 super let's see here it is a yeah just a regular 2070 my bad my mistake you guys are probably crucifying me in the comments oh my God he said it was a super um I'm just happy that it it found it the only thing that's concerning is oh I don't seem to be getting any display out of it so that's not great and also it's not reading an MSI After Burner correctly hm that's weird um I'm going to go ahead and download the newest drivers for this and we'll be right back all right so I got the drivers installed and this is the 1030 that's the 2070 seems to be showing display so now let's fire up a great test here let's fire up all unminable and see if she mines yes we'll also open up MSI after burner continue 270 it's showing it's got some clocks on there now so that's good uh we'll go next on zel has and we'll let that bad boy start mining so I'm going to let that spin up and I'll be right back all right guys so um this GPU is getting a little warm we're at about 87 86 yeah it's bouncing at 86 and 87 pulled the power limit down um but hash rate is coming down it spiked up and was around 51 52 so right in the range where it should be but uh it's just running too hot cuz this Fan's not providing enough uh air flow across this card which that's to be expected it it really needs that dual fan and a shroud to direct the air but I think this graphics card is good so um I'm going to power it down and I'm going to look for some replacement fans to fit in that um that little generic black shroud and go from there but yeah that's a that's a win-win I'm happy because I gave him a price that made sense to me if this card was bad cuz he did not know if it was good and didn't want to wait around and find out but yeah um heck yeah win-win put a little money into that and and that it'll turn a nice little dollar or two but other than that ladies and gentlemen I wanted to thank you guys for coming out let me flip this around I wanted to thank my sponsor BCS PCS myself um so if you need any computer parts gpus CPUs RAM Computers all that kind of stuff you can go to my website bc-pc do.com it does directly help me and support me um if you don't want to that's fine too you can just keep watching on YouTube and I still appreciate you um wasn't there's another thing I wanted to say oh you can also reach out to me I am still buying Hardware um I am a little backed up at the moment I have to put together three more estimates for people that uh emailed stuff in over the last few days uh but my email is I have it up there I don't have it up there interesting you can also text that number it's 919 96 4947 I got a separate cell phone just for the shop so if you try to call or text like late at night or kind of like you know unusual business hours I probably won't respond uh but you can text me if you wanted to sell some stuff or give me a call texting is probably the easiest um yeah but I am buying gpus CPUs anything computer related essentially uh unfortunately no more mac stuff cuz I bought a iMac and that's a whole another video but anyway guys thanks for coming out I'll see you on the next one adios
