ChromeBook Crypto Mining Verus Coin

what is up ladies and gentlemen welcome back to the brandoncoin YouTube channel and I haven't done a Varys mining video in I don't know it's been a few days maybe a week or so um but I had another tradein at the computer shop and I figured you know what let's try to throw Varys on it so let me flip this around and show you what we're working with all right so um I got this traded in along with a bunch of other stuff this is a Chromebook so if you don't know it runs Chrome OS which is a a version of Android or something similar and I was like well let me go ahead and see see if I can throw uh Varys Miner this is the pangs lab Varys Miner and um you do have to enable developer mode uh which was no problem because originally this Chromebook uh got traded in as not working so um I never tested it uh just took his word for it and figured you know what I'll throw it on eBay for parts if I can't get it working anyway I plugged it in and it came up to an account screen it was locked I couldn't get into it so um whenever you go to enable developer mode which is you turn the system off and then you hold down the Escape key and the refresh key at the same time hit the power button uh it comes up and then it will ask for um OS verification you turn that off and then it will enable developer mode and it also uh resets all the local files so you have to log back into your account so from that point you just log in with any normal Google account uh and you can it's Bic basically like a fresh computer at that point um now this system is not one of the newer Chromebooks this is an older Chromebook as you can see it is a four core so not a lot of power here I've had it mining for the last let's see here we have 50 accepted shares so it's been at least a couple minutes and she's settled out around a little bit less than 1 and A2 megahash now is this profitable probably not um I'll plug it in and see uh I I think I can probably actually pull up the TDP or the wattage usage for this model um but we can plug in 1.38 or we we even Round Up 1.4 megahash on Varys and see what that pays out daily it's spoiler alert it's not going to be much but if you have some of these old Chromebooks laying around um or if you wanted to acquire certain ones that had better processors in them you might be able to mine Varys coin um for really cheap so uh I've just been looking into alternative ways for people to get into Mining and not have to spend a lot of money and this might be one of them so let's go ahead and check out and see what this bad boy would be making and if you could find them online and how much these are going for I know I've seen in my local area there there's been pallets of these Chromebooks sold off for next to nothing I don't know if all of them are compatible or or only some of them are compatible but uh these things get sold off for Pennies on the dollar uh after they've been used by schools and organizations and stuff like that doing a little bit of research the processor is a mediatech mt8183 uh I don't know specifically much about this processor but I know the Mt 8000 series is not necessarily what you would consider high performance um but this one does only have 4 GB of uh lpddr4 uh so not exactly a Powerhouse by any means now going over to the various minor and calculator 1.4 mahash I didn't put any power consumption in but that only Nets 1.3 cents or 0.3 Varys coin per day or 9 cents or 002 verus coin in a week and in 30 days goodness in 30 days you would expect to mine about little bit less than 30 cents worth of varis coin or 06 Varys coin so um obviously not great um I wonder if we can look this up and see power consumption I would imagine that this chip doesn't use a ton the screen probably use more uses more power than this processor does and I don't see anywhere right off the top of my hand top of top of my head but um yeah so there it is ladies and gentlemen um I'm going to pull up and see if I can't find any other Chromebooks and Deals like that and uh maybe find some Chromebooks that have eight core processors I think that would be the ticket uh these four cores are probably just not worth it all right so I was doing a little bit more searching and it looks like there's plenty of bulk Chromebooks for sale on both Facebook Marketplace and eBay now what models are compatible and are not compatible I'm not sure so you guys will have to do your own homework on that and if it will even be viable I think phones are still going to be the King on vers coin for a while but if you have a spare Chromebook laying around and you want a little extra vars hash who knows give it a try uh if you have tried it or you did just try it I'd love for you guys to comment down below your model number of your Chromebook and what kind of hash rate you're getting because um there's got to be a winner out there there's got to be a cheap Chromebook or a Chromebook that you can get for cheap that hash as well it just that's all you know it's got to be a a diamond in the rough but anyways ladies and gentlemen youall have a good one I'll see you on the next one adios
