Heating my House with SALAD ai and crypto mining

what is up ladies and gentlemen welcome back to my little bit of a salad Farm here and I'm starting to move stuff inside it's still pretty warm outside right now we've had a couple like a cold week last week now it's a warm week but I figure I'll start transitioning maybe one rig in every now and then until it gets like really cold and um yeah hopefully we don't we can heat our house with like you know Ai and Mining so my plan is uh these are current systems that are currently running on salad and I do not have mining workloads enabled yet because they are in my garage I don't care about keeping my garage heated or cooled but moving them inside I'm going to enable mining workloads on these so that way they put off extra heat when they don't have uh compute workloads to do so whenever they do have compute jobs then they'll make the Primo money and when they don't at least they're putting off heat and making a little bit of money more than idle um so the one that I'm going to grab right now is this one on the end I don't remember what CPU is in it so let me pull it out it's a ryzen 7 wait is it a ryzen 5 let's go see together all right guys so I got it pulled up here and um I needed to update salad I have not been connected into this one uh for some reason Google Chrome messed up on this one the remote desktop so I have to reset that up but yeah new salads launching at the moment we'll get a fresh restart on this when I power it down to move it um yeah remote access is is messed up I don't know why might have to reinstall it turn off all notifications yeah look at this what is my going on with my Chrome remote desktop all right so I'm going to uninstall that but you'll notice I had to plug my monitor in cuz my Chrome remote desktop messed up on this computer um shout out I'm not sponsored anything but if you guys have any of these R Zopa like portable monitors they can be powered and video through any type c so if you have a device that'll do uh video out of type c that's really nice this is a 3060 12 gig it doesn't so I'm running HDMI but then I'm powering the monitor off of a regular USB into the back of the uh motherboard so those are low power USBS and that's all the monitors running off of HDMI and then USB so you can take this monitor anywhere and plug it into anything and it can be powered by that so I don't have to plug it into the wall and that kind of stuff so that's why these are fairly nice it'd be nicer if I had a built-in battery but I guess I could always rig something up with like a battery and then a USB bank or something I don't know regardless this is a ryzen 55600 g so that's six sces 12 threads um in a perfect world um turning mining enabled on it will use the CPU but I've noticed some systems don't mine on the CPU and then others do I don't know why it does so uh I'm going to reinstall Chrome remote desktop we're going to move this bad boy to its final resting home then we will enable Mining workloads and then we'll see if it starts hitting the CPU as well as the GPU or just the CPU or just the the GPU sorry um because on systems that it won't mine on the CPU and just the GPU I use unminable and then I will a lot and leave eight threads open so that way if somebody rinse it out there is some CPU power uh on the compute side but then any extra threads over top of that I would use so on this one I would set unminable to use about four cores if I was going to mine on there but we'll see um all right let's go move this bad boy all right so I set that up in the bedroom I had to be quiet though cuz my wife was in there and she was laying down she's got a headache she's now getting the bug that I had last week you know that always figures but um I'm going to get this bad boy fired up on Chrome remote desktop I kind of shoved it like to the side up underneath my nightstand on my side it's only a 3060 and a ryzen 5 that thing's basically silent so I don't think it's going to be any bother in there um yeah yeah let's do it all right so I loaded up uh remote desktop I went ahead and started the um mining enabled on salad so if you don't know how to do that you go to Performance you go all the way down to configure Hardware then you go down Advanced options crypto mining enabled uh but it looks like um off camera right before I was doing this it was downloading a file over Wi-Fi and then it created the wslv ethernet this only shows up on Windows 10 it does not show up on Windows 11 I don't know why uh and then it loaded into RAM it was using about 4 gigs went up to 10 gigs and then now on the GPU underneath Cuda see it's spiking it's running uh calculations so it is doing compute workloads right now uh but there's a glitch in the system they posted about it under their announcement sections you can't see what individual machines are doing last 24 hours is for everything combined um I have a bunch of stuff offline that's why it's down so low but yeah so this bad boy is on a workload I need to get the rest of these moved around and set up but hopefully I'll be able to heat my house with uh compute and Mining that would be uh a perfect a perfect world so so far I have a um 3060 system in uh the playroom and it's got a 3060 with a 12 core Zeon um in my kids room I'm going to move a a I believe probably a 3090 system in their closet um I have a 3060 in my bedroom uh probably going to put a a 3090 in my closet so I'll have two because my room's a little bit bigger and then in the living room I definitely want to put some kind of uh maybe a 3090 system in there as well tuck one away somewhere so just spread out the heat in the house and then as I need more I can bring more inside as it gets colder but yeah so anyways thanks for coming out uh thanks
