okay so today we're going to be setting up and
running xm rig on windows and we're going to be using this because we're reportably getting a
little bit faster uh response times on windows on ryzen's however we're definitely going to be
using this in a coming tutorial on ubuntu for how to do this with older intel's because that's
where apparently you're seeing some pretty big performance gains really quick i have been running
the xm rig for several days now on the rpi4 you can kind of see down here that the rpi4 not a
powerhouse by any means at 19 hashes per second we will be as they've now released a new release
installing that on the rpi and also installing it on the ubuntu uh dell servers that i'm also
running ghost rider on again if you haven't checked out the economics of running ghost rider
you might want to check the video above because i dive deep into which are the best processors
to run it on and what the economic scales of raptorium look like on modern horizons and
i'm putting together a video on older intel's uh specifically like xenon series stuff because
a lot of people have older xenons and finding out you know what is going to be the most optimum
setup for running it okay so link below to where you can download this be sure to hit like and
subscribe if you're enjoying this also folks because this is the kind of content that we put
out here trying to help everybody out now the msvc reportably gets a better speed than the uh
gcc for windows builds so we're going to download this and we're just going to take it down to the
desktop after it's downloaded to the desktop we're going to go ahead and extract all and just put
it into this folder once we're inside this folder open this up and you're going to notice that you
have an rtm ghostwriter example here right click and windows 11.
You're going to go to edit that
and we're going to edit it with notepad plus plus so there's just a couple tweaks that you need to
do here to get up and mining with it so the first thing that we're going to do is we're going
to take our mining address and put it in here and then dot windows 11 since i accidentally
upgraded that uh now the next thing that we're going to do is change the endpoint
and add a custom command in there that allows tls to operate so if we go back here
to start mining and we pull up this individual address we can go there paste that in and
that's five five five five now this is the ssl so we need to give it another command so it
knows how to handle that hyphen hyphen tls is what we're going to add in there go
ahead and save this and we'll let this go for a little bit of time and just see what
kind of results we're able to get out of it and so right click you need to run as
administrator to enable huge pages support so do set that or you can just go ahead and go to the
properties and set that to always run like that so let's take a quick look at what we were getting on
this machine and what i hope to be getting on this machine if things work out right we won't know for
about 24 hours because that just takes time to run and thanks everybody for sending me well wishes
the short visit to the er and they were able to give me some magic stuff to drink that relaxed my
throat and whatever that was in there went on its way down it feels like but i do have to go back
and get an endoscopy so that sucks because this has kind of been an ongoing thing so um if we
look at what we were having for our hash rate on uh different algos we can see that the w10
worker won before i updated accidentally to windows 11 and we were getting right around
1.61 that was pretty darn consistent um after it had run for 24 hours that it would get
to that point and it was actually really good as far as not having generated a lot of rejects and
very low on the stales so now that we've got our windows 11 up and running it's going to take time
to get up to what its configuration is capable of producing but let's go ahead and just check out a
couple things really quick so once you have xm rig running you can hit h r and c are the main ones
that are really useful you can also use p and r so just by clicking in here you can see that the
commands are right here and so if you hit h it'll give you kind of like a static what your hash rate
is at that second if you hit p you can pause it if you hit r you can resume it and if you hit c you
can see where you're connected it may not seem like it's running at as many threads as the cpu
minor gr but that could be okay because xmrig just handles it differently that's what i've taken in
from reading things out there so really the only way to tell whether you're seeing a performance
benefit or not is to let it run for 24 hours okay so let's quantify what kind of a performance
improvement we might expect or hope to see if we're going to get in the five-ish percent
range increase so we can see that on let me unhide inactives here on the worker that we had
here which same machine just named differently i had created this one when it was a windows 10
machine it's now windows 11 machine whatever uh but we were getting 1.6 was our average so
let's say a 5 increase so we'll take 1.6 and then we'll times that by 1.05 and we'll get 1.68
if we're expecting to get a 5 increase 1.68 it's going to be kind of that target number let's see
what it would look like with uh 1.6 times one 1.1 with a 10 increase it would be 1.76 and so just
even letting it run here for a little while while i've been doing some other stuff on the computer
i can see that we're getting uh up there towards where we're hoping to get so we haven't yet
hit the average mark and it probably wouldn't it's definitely gonna take time but it is creeping
up so things look like they're on track um whether we plateau here in the next couple of minutes at
1.6 or whether at 24 hours we refresh it and check those are things that you'll be able to follow
along with because as i am releasing other videos on doing raptoria mining you can just follow
along with these stats and you can always hit up my address which is down below and check
out what i'm able to get so uh follow along in real time i think that's kind of the easy thing
about pool mining is that you can see where i'm at so i i'm pretty excited about it i i gotta say
um i think that i did not mention one thing that is you can use s and that will give you kind
of like the stats that you have got so far for your pool and you can see that i do have one
rejected so far so i hope to see that not creep up there i was doing some premiere pro video editing
on this video hopefully that's just as a result of that um i i don't know but uh time will tell
um yeah so far i've gotta say pretty optimistic all right so i'm gonna put together an ubuntu
build for this so sound off below be sure to hit like and subscribe if you find this content useful
share it out there and also hit that little bell so you get notified whenever things are coming
up i had some people asking me about some other kryptos and i am investigating one of them in
particular i also have another one that i've already put in the no category for a really good
reason and i hope people uh make sure to check that video out because there's some important
implications as far as like your security and your like safe safely uh safe safe living that i really
think about for myself but i also want my audience to be aware of the implications of running certain
types of uh vpn based cryptos out there but i'm gonna have an analysis on why i think that's a
bad idea to be running a vpn out there for people i think that is like among the worst ideas uh is
to run a vpn for people out there and i care about you guys in the long term not getting a visit from
some law enforcement agency or some you know cease and desist letter for some sort of activity from
your isp i think those are things that you want to consider as being real potentials if you do
run that kind of uh software out there alright so there we have it up and running on windows
11 with raptorium mining on xm rig on the latest msbc build and that's it so i hope you guys
can hit me up at go spaceport on twitter you can find me on the website digitalspaceport.com
and we will see you guys next time be sure to hit like and subscribe and check out these videos for
more information on your favorite crypto topics
