SALAD HUGE UPDATE MACHINE STATUS AND ID

what is up ladies and gentlemen welcome back to the Brandon coin YouTube channel I hope everybody's having a great day let me actually let me turn I need to turn the gain up on this microphone a little bit test test one two there we go okay let me know how the audio is can you hear me clearly is there a lot of background noise I've been messing with my Noise Gate filters again but regardless this is December 12th 2024 and there is a new salad update and this is probably the first salad update I've been genuinely excited about in a long time so this is salad update 1.7.5 and uh let me just read you the updates and then we'll dive right into it so um it is a planned roll out some of my machines have the updates some of them don't uh as time goes on they will get them so fixes and improvements job statuses the app will now show uh chefs their specific running State status while chopping it'll say looking for downloading initializing or running a job so that's huge so you actually know what your computer's doing uh if it's hung up if it's not doing anything um if you need to you know uh do something uh or if it's just waiting for a job if there might not be a job available a lot of people were confused about that they didn't know you know what was going on that kind of thing um more information is huge more more clear information is is definitely a good thing so now the second thing that was updated was machine IDs are now visible in the apps setting window this will allow chefs to better interpret per machine earning metrics in our web app yes yes we know so we'll be able to to figure out exactly what machine is what now whenever you don't have a ton of rigs running it's not really a big deal let me I'll call that person right back whenever you don't have a ton of rigs running it's not a big deal but once you get up multiple three four five 6 7 8 10 rigs especially a lot of them matching uh it can be a nightmare to try to decipher which rig is which now that we can see uh the actual Hardware ID and we can compare it or rig ID that is that is very nice um so uh I noticed some of my rigs were not on 1.7.5 yet uh as of this morning and they were earning zero so I don't know and it doesn't say uh this is a mandatory update but I would suggest updating to 1.7.5 you have nothing to lose in my opinion now let me change this screen over and show you what it looks like on a computer that is updated and currently looking for a job right here oh I got to move my face hold on move my face over here there we go all right so right now you can see it um salad is looking for a job compatible with your Hardware we're currently on a 3090 machine apparently there are more 3090 jobs coming so that'll be good um and yeah shows balance last 24 hours but it doesn't show a current estimated for the next 24 hours so that's still something that they haven't added now if you do want to see your ID you go down here to configure Hardware then you click on settings so we're going to disable sleep mode wh list and and Defender looks like I had to redo this after I installed um installed the new update update Channel workload preferences oh okay A little bit of a change changed a little bit Advanced options crypto mining disabled sorry about that I got another phone call and I just answered it because I thought it was important but it was just somebody asking me if I take RX 470s as tradein and I'm like I can but they're just not worth much the the value is really bad on them regardless small little segue shout out to I do have a small I found where the rig ID was so we clicked on settings go all the way down to show your M machine ID so this one's 9742 539 and I had my internet go down last night so all of my rigs lost all their workloads so I'm waiting for something to pick a job back up and it looks like right now there's not much available salad is looking for a job compatible with your Hardware so anyway guys hopefully this is the beginning of uh a lot of good updates and also more more workloads com to the salad ecosystem uh I'm I'm really looking forward to it uh I right now I don't have and I have not made much money off of my 3060 machines and it is getting cold outside so I think I am going to be transitioning my 3060 rigs over to warthog for the time being so I'm going to be doing a Windows update or a Windows setup guide for warthog and and then I can keep a lookout and if 30 60 jobs come up and are plentiful on salad then we can flip one back over to salad CU it'll just be in the same Windows environment just to keep it simple I think I'm going to keep my 309s on um salad for right now but if it does end up getting super cold and they're not working we may flip those over to warthog as
