In the fast-paced world of cryptocurrency mining, staying ahead of the curve is essential for profitability. With the upcoming release of the Bitmain KS3, many miners are bracing themselves for a flood of hash rate that will likely impact profitability. However, there is a new contender entering the mining scene that has the potential to achieve an incredibly fast return on investment (ROI) before the release of the KS3. That contender is the Rabid KS3.

In this article, we will explore the setup and performance of the Rabid KS3, as well as the potential for achieving a rapid ROI with this innovative mining hardware. We will also delve into the technical specifications of the Rabid KS3, including its power supply requirements, cooling solutions, and mining performance.

### Technical Specifications

First and foremost, let’s take a closer look at the technical specifications of the Rabid KS3. The power supply is a critical component of any mining rig, and the Rabid KS3 is no exception. The current power supply specifications indicate that it requires approximately 90.1 Watts, with a model number PA 1932 and an input voltage range of 100 to 240 volts at 1.5 amps. The output voltage is 19 volts at 4.7 amps. This information is crucial for miners who are considering alternative power supply options, such as a Universal adapter or a server power supply with the appropriate barrel plug.

In terms of cooling, the Rabid KS3 features a unique design that resembles a giant heat sink. The manufacturer recommends placing the device in an area with convection air, which implies that it should be positioned in an area where air flow is sufficient to dissipate heat effectively. Some miners have also experimented with adding additional fans for enhanced cooling, and the potential for running the device from a server power supply.

### Setup and Installation

Setting up the Rabid KS3 can be a straightforward process, but there are a few considerations to keep in mind. For instance, there have been reports of initial setup issues related to network detection. Some users have found it necessary to resort to a factory reset by holding down the reset button for an extended period to resolve these issues.

Upon successful detection on the network, users can access the device’s browser-based interface for further configuration. The default login credentials are typically username: admin and password: 12345678 or 123456789. Once logged in, users can adjust settings such as mining configurations, IP settings, and other relevant parameters.

### Mining Performance and Profitability

When it comes to mining performance, the Rabid KS3 holds its own against other mining hardware in its class. With a power consumption of approximately 65 Watts, the device has demonstrated the capability to generate a significant daily income, even as the block reward on Casper decreases and more hash rate comes online. This promises to provide an attractive return on investment for early adopters of the Rabid KS3.

In terms of profitability, it is essential to consider factors such as pool selection, mining configuration, and overall market conditions. Miners have the flexibility to choose from a variety of mining pools, with options such as Casperpool.org and Hero Miners being popular choices. The selection of the right pool, combined with efficient mining configuration, can have a significant impact on overall profitability.

### Conclusion

The Rabid KS3 represents a promising opportunity for miners to achieve an exceptionally fast ROI, especially when compared to other mining hardware in its category. Its unique design, power efficiency, and potential for profitability make it an attractive option for those seeking to maximize their mining returns.

As the mining landscape continues to evolve, it is crucial for miners to stay informed about the latest hardware innovations and their potential impact on profitability. With its combination of power efficiency, robust performance, and potential for rapid ROI, the Rabid KS3 is a noteworthy addition to the cryptocurrency mining ecosystem.

In conclusion, the Rabid KS3 has the potential to deliver one of the fastest ROIs ever seen in the mining industry, making it a compelling option for miners looking to capitalize on the opportunities presented by emerging hardware solutions. With careful consideration of setup, configuration, and pool selection, miners can maximize their returns and stay ahead of the curve in this dynamic and competitive landscape.

  1. man why dose evryone alwase besssup KS0 cooling i dont get it like whe do Crypto mining and people do basic mistakes on simple radiators witch meen its goan keep the units cool and use acces heat to heat up the House during whinter

  2. Is it possible to plug the KS0 on socket when there is no light and it turns up (on) when the light comes in my absence????? Please someone should help me with a reply. I mean does it need manual way to switch it on? Or will it automatically turn on itself when the light comes up?

  3. woke up this morning to see that my KAS0 was offline but it was blinking as it worked. so i unplugged it and after 1min i powered it back on. and try to log in into the admin panel. but it says that the password is wrong but it isnt, its still the factory setting. i try to factory reset it but i cant still get access to the admin panel. what have happed? did i get hacked? how do i fix it?

  4. A small way to lower the temperature at KS0 about 2-3 degrees! I have looked after opening the Miner times the internal structure and I noticed the following. The motherboard is screwed with the 8 spring screws against the upper part of the housing (heat sink). I noticed that the board has a relatively low contact pressure against the heat sink. I have therefore removed the board and the lower brass spacers filed off about 0.5mm and then ground clean. Cleaned properly afterwards with isopropanyl alcohol, the Asic chips again with new thermal paste and then everything reassembled properly. You have to imagine if the contact pressure is too low, the heat generation of the Asic chips can not be transferred properly to the heat sink, this is now much better and you can feel it clearly in the heat generation of the case! Only as a small suggestion for those who want to open the KS0 also.

My temperatures before the modification and after:
    Temp1: 36 degrees Temp2: 41 degrees
    Temp1: 32-33 degrees Temp2: 37-38 degrees
    50 percent fan speed

  5. Wouldn't it be better to put the fan pushing the air upwards instead? Heat tends to go up, it just seems to me like the fan pushing the hot air down is not helping it.

  6. I bought the KS0 and it worked great, I also bought a KS0 auxiliary kit which made it work even better! I recorded it on video, KAS to the moon!

  7. Quick question about Miners… new and I dont know how it works.

Do Miners only work for 1 coin?

Or can I use the miner to mine another crypto in the future like Litecoin or Monero in a few months,

    or a more profitable coin?

The reason I`m asking is everywhere this is advertised as a "KAS Miner".

  8. Why do I prefer to mine with the Iceriver KS0 with a static difficulty?! Because of the more stable hashrate! E.g. this is possible with Herominers. Just use them as workers: Wallet_Address=1600000000000.Worker_Name to mine with a difficulty of 1099.51 G, which is the best difficulty for me. 🙂 Use Port 1206 or 1207 at Herominers. Personally, I think the difficulty of 2.2 T set by most pools is simply too high for the KS0!
