SALAD Container Workloads Warning

what is up ladies and gentlemen uh just saw this update it came through about 30 minutes ago I figured I'd go ahead and do a video so that way you guys don't potentially lose out on some earnings um so on salad and uh I have been not upgrading or updating older versions as long as they had a workload or had a job because I didn't want to um kill the job update it and then not get another job uh but they just uh updated today on their announcements and they are sun setting previe previous versions they have done this in the past um let's see here where we at there we are so I I'll read this out for you guys this was today at 1:53 p.m. and it is July 1st 2024 um this was posted by the CX manager Erica yep um Sunset notice update to 1.6.0 to get container workloads salad will be closing the kitchen for containers to chefs who are running salad versions before 1 . 6.0 we will go live with the minimum update throughout the day make sure to update your salad today to the latest version 1.6.0 in order to keep receiving the latest and greatest from the kitchen um now I the reason why I think that they're saying that it's going to go throughout the day uh and I did ask for some clarification I haven't heard back yet currently is that um if you are on a working job uh that job is going to complete and then it won't pick up a new job so everybody's time that uh they won't be able to continue is going to probably be a little different um I don't imagine that they would hard cut everybody's job at one particular time and if they were then they would just announce hey today at this time blah blah blah blah you'll have to be updated so what I'm going to do is keep track of my uh rigs keep you know keep a lookout on them and whenever I notice they go calculating and they don't pick up another job I'm going to start updating them kind of like what we've been doing in the past if a rig's calculating might as well update it and then go from there um but now this does introduce a new threshold of time where potentially you'd be able to pick up jobs uh as people aren't updating in time whether people are at work or away from their computer um it will cut off a vast majority of the people that were getting jobs uh and H aren't able to update as fast as you could update so you can take that into to account and kind of think about that sorry I bumped the mic um but yeah so be ready for that 1.6.0 going live live action uh as of right now let me pull up my My Graph here uh where we at all right so it looks like I've been pretty steady picking up and dropping you know little job throughout the day um holding right around $25 within the last 24 hours so I'm pretty pumped about that um I am going to be leaving and going uh to dinner this evening so until until I leave I'm going to be watching this like a hawk cuz the last thing I wanted to do is uh you know maybe complete a job on one of my rigs while I'm gone and then I lose 6 7 8 n 10 hours until I get back and and that kind of thing obviously I don't think I'd lose 10 hours but you know what I mean um so you know fortune favors the bold and uh so we're GNA boldly be watching our rigs um somebody was uh talking to me and they were just like man you know this is too much headache this is too much babysitting um this is this is nothing like Mining and let me tell you ladies and gentlemen back when I started GPU mining by the way this is not mining that we were doing AI workloads but back when I started GPU mining that was before a lot of like the management softwares and stuff were really popular um and this was very common babysitting trying new you know new updates new upgrades different drivers you know what's working what's not working there was always something happening and it was always evolving and if you weren't staying on top of it or staying you know plugged into a resource that was staying on top of it then you were falling behind um so that's what I'm trying to be for you guys on you know if I'm doing it and and I'm staying up to date I might as as well do a video about it and keep you guys up to date in the meantime uh so if you ever find anything or or come out with any any information um and it it's some you know it is helpful you could always drop it you know and a text me or email me that kind of thing um I am in touch with some of the salad team so I I do know a lot of what goes on but obviously they can't say everything they got to they got to keep some stuff in the dark until it's ready to come out but um yeah so anyways I'm going to make this we're going to end this right here yeah we're at 5 minutes I hope you have a good one I'll see you on the next one adios this should make for an eventful recap this evening a a revenue recap because who knows what it's going to look like
