SALAD Update 1.5.8 GPU Compute/Mining

what's up ladies and gentlemen just making a quick video it looks like salad just pushed out a new update 1.5.8 um I don't see an announcement on the Discord page yet go back and just double check um yeah so there's no official announcement but my one of my rigs actually popped up a push notification that it was ready to update so I went over to the GitHub and it looks like um update to version 1.5.8 bug fixes and performance improvements and that's pretty much it so I don't suggest upgrading to this if you're currently on a working job that's doing well but if you have a system that's not doing anything like I have this 3060 right here and it's just calculating basically waiting in line for another job I am going to go ahead and pause this one and update now so not really much to not much to lose at the moment so we'll update that and I found out I've had a lot better success for or when after I'm done updating I go ahead it doesn't require you to um but I go ahead and do a fresh restart on the system and then start salad back up so we'll get that done and um yeah so some of my rigs are still running on 1.5.5 I haven't even updated them from that so I do know that you can run uh all the way back to 1.5.5 and still get container workloads um basically my way of doing it is uh if if it's got a job I'm going to let it work that job till it no longer has a job um and that's just kind of that's been My Philosophy so far as for NVIDIA drivers because people keep asking me about NVIDIA drivers what do they need to do all right so now it launched and it's paused I'm going to go ahead and restart the system what do they need to do about NVIDIA drivers I have not upgraded any of my NVIDIA drivers from the 552 do whatever it was um then the 1.5.7 Apparently fixed the Nvidia driver issue so you can update to the latest envidia drivers but I'm not on 1.5.7 on all my rigs so I was just going to wait and then eventually say if they start getting you know any kind of errors or or quit getting jobs that's when I'll upgrade them or update them um uh a lot of people experiencing issues out of 4060 TI 16 gigs and 470s 470 TI 480s with the low Ram issue um I'm hoping maybe that's what this 1.5.8 fix is but I don't have any 40 series up and running yet um I still have to deploy them but um the 309s and my 30 60s are not getting the vram or low vram uh issue so that's um I think it's got something to do with the 40 series or that new update guess while we're here we'll go ahead and check in on the other 3060 and see what it's doing this is on my shop computer I was watching some YouTube uh it's doing a191 a day we are not touching that thing let's go ahead and disconnect from that let's check in on the 39s the 3090 number one while we're waiting on that restart looks like it's got a job it is doing $633 a day yep we are not upgrading that one 100% we ain't touching it all right let's see if the 3060 number four is back online by the way 3060 uh 2 and three are currently down uh that is unfortunate let's keep Windows 10 decline upgrade because we don't need that I like Windows 10 I I don't know why I'm just holding off on Windows 11 some people say solad runs better on Windows 11 I'm not really had any issues on Windows 10 so each their own right right let's launch salad let's go ahead and launch task manager some people said that they don't leave task manager open I have task manager open on all my salad rigs I have not experienced any anything detrimental um for having them you know running um let's see we're at four minutes right now I I'm going to give it let's see if we uh we have anything firing up here processes solid Bowl don't know if we got a job right this second or not 3.8 gigs on the memory out of 32 yeah I don't think we got a job I was going to say if it fired up and like you know had a job right away and I would let it load in and and talk to you guys but uh I I think there's a lot of 30 60s on the network there's lots of competition for those 12 GB vram container jobs and that's kind of how they're segmented because I noticed like 3080 12 gigs and 380 TI 12 gigs um they'll get a lot of those like $21.99 or you know anywhere from like 175 to $2 jobs uh that the 30 60s would get uh even though they could technically you know do more if it's not available um I think they steal those jobs just just my theory probably not correct but a thought um but yeah anyway guys uh let me know uh in the comments down below if you have upgraded to 1.5.8 if it's been better for you if it's been worse for you and then I'll check in tonight when I do the daily update um and we'll see maybe hopefully if this rigs up and running because this is the only one that I have calculating right now because I am down to only what four or five I have six machines online out of the eight down but um this is the only one that's calculating at the moment cross your fingers all right y'all have a good one I'll see you on the next one adios
